Turn Sileby & Quorn Pink - Total Raised

November 2025

Community Campaign Raises £8,178.94 for Cancer Research

Including Funds from Sinclair’s Breast Cancer Awareness Bake Sales

As part of the wider Turning Sileby and Quorn Pink for Cancer Research initiative, the community has collectively raised an impressive £8,178.94, inclusive of Gift Aid. This total reflects the combined efforts of residents, local organisations, and volunteers who continue to show strong support for cancer research and awareness.

A significant contribution to this total came from Sinclair’s Cancer Awareness Bake Sales, held on Friday 3rd October and Friday 10th October 2025 at 15 High Street, Sileby (LE12 7RX). These events raised £405.55, all of which has gone directly toward cancer research.

Sinclair’s Breast Cancer Awareness Bake Sales

At Sinclair, community involvement is an important part of our values. Throughout October, we took part in Breast Cancer Awareness Month by hosting two bake sales offering a range of homemade cakes, bakes, and sweet treats. These events invited residents, colleagues, and visitors to participate in a simple but meaningful way: by purchasing something sweet to support an important cause.

Supporting “Turn Sileby Pink”

We were proud to contribute to this year’s Turn Sileby & Quorn Pink, a local initiative that brings the village together throughout October. With pink decorations, events, and community engagement, it serves as a powerful reminder of what collective action can achieve in raising awareness for cancer.

Coordinated Community Effort

The overall fundraising total of £8,178.94 reflects not just individual events, but the coordinated work behind them. Special recognition goes to Liz and Barry, who have played a central role in organising and guiding the campaign. Their continued leadership has helped maintain strong community involvement and ensure that funds reach essential research initiatives.

Making a Lasting Impact

Cancer research depends heavily on public support. Funds raised through community events like the bake sales help to advance treatment options, improve early detection methods, and ultimately increase survival rates. We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who supported, donated, baked, attended, or promoted the events. Your involvement—whether large or small—contributes directly to ongoing research and support for those affected by breast cancer.

THANK YOU!
